Advanced Driving Course for New Drivers

New drivers are four times more likely to be involved in an accident in their first year. If your son or daughter has recently passed their test, or if they've already had a close call, this one-day course gives them the skills and awareness that the standard driving test simply doesn't cover.

What Your Child Will Learn

New drivers pass their test knowing how to operate a car and pay heed to basic hazards. What they don't learn is how to read the full environment, anticipate dangers, and stay safe when things go wrong.

This training fills that gap. In one intensive day with a professional driving coach, your child will learn to:

• Spot hazards before they become emergencies: most incidents on the road are avoidable if you see them early enough. We teach drivers how to read the environment and react before, not after, a situation develops.
• Stay calm under pressure: young drivers often panic when something unexpected happens. We build composure and a clear decision-making process so they respond rather than react.
• Drive with real awareness, not just going through the motions: most new drivers slip into autopilot within weeks of passing. We break that habit and replace it with active, deliberate observation.
• Handle motorways with confidence: many new drivers avoid motorways entirely. We take the fear out of lane changes, merging, and high-speed driving.
• Understand the limits of their car: smooth braking, safe cornering, and knowing what the car can and can't do. No showing off, just genuine understanding of how their car behaves.

Why Parents Book This Course

Every parent worries when they hand over the car keys. You've seen the statistics, you've read the news, and you know your child isn't as experienced as they think they are.

Parents typically book this course for one of three reasons:

"They've just passed and I want them to be safe." The driving test teaches the basics but only gives cursory attention to real-world situations such unexpected hazards, bad weather and fast-moving traffic. This course bridges that gap before something goes wrong.

"They've had a bump or a scare and I want to rebuild their confidence." A minor accident or near-miss can knock a young driver's confidence badly, or worse, not affect it at all. Either way, we help them understand what happened, why, and how to prevent it next time.

"They're driving my car and I want to know they'll look after it." We teach smooth, mechanically sympathetic driving that's easier on the car, easier on the fuel, and easier on your nerves.

What Happens on the Day

All coaching takes place one-to-one in the client's own car on real roads. It's a day a full day of practical, hands-on driving with a professional coach.

A typical session runs from 09:30 to around 16:30, covering approximately 100-150 miles. We provide lunch and regular breaks as it's an intensive day and concentration is key.

Before the session, you (and the driver) will speak with their coach to discuss levels of experience, concerns, and what you'd to get out of the day. Every session is tailored as no two drivers are the same.

By the end of the day, you'll notice the difference. Parents regularly tell us their child drives with noticeably more awareness and composure after just one session.
