Frequently Asked Questions
Before Booking
What skill level do I need?
No advanced experience is needed. Our courses are designed for everyday drivers who want to improve their skills and confidence on the road. Whether you passed your test last year or thirty years ago, we'll tailor the coaching to your level.
Where do your courses take place?
Our courses take place on public roads in carefully chosen locations across the UK. We select routes that offer a variety of driving challenges including A-roads, country lanes, and motorways. Your instructor will confirm the meeting point when you book.
How do I book?
Simply choose your course, and click the enquiry button. We'll get in touch and walk you through the process.
Contact us →Can I buy a session as a gift?
Absolutely! Advanced driving coaching makes a fantastic gift. You can purchase a gift voucher for any of our courses.
Browse gift vouchers →What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
You can reschedule or cancel your booking free of charge up to 28 days before your session. Changes within 28 days may be subject to a fee. Please get in touch as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Check out our terms of booking →It seems expensive
Please check out the credentials of our coaches - these are talented people with many, many years of experience. The value you'll get from even a single day with them is immense. Even one day of coaching will change your driving forever.
Our experienced instructors →Will I get cheaper insurance if I complete a DMAP session?
It's sensible to tell your insurer that you've had advanced driving instruction and some companies will take it into account. We are in talks with the insurance industry to seek recognition for the DMAP programme.
During the Experience
What should I wear or bring on the day?
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for driving. Bring your full, valid driving licence and a bottle of water. We'll provide everything else including a light lunch.
How long does a typical session last?
A standard session runs for a full day, typically from around 9:30am to 4:30pm. This includes driving time, breaks, and a light lunch. We also offer half-day options if you'd prefer a shorter experience.
Do I use my own car?
Yes, learning additional skills is best done in a vehicle you're already familiar with.
Will the Driving Coach be driving my car?
It is not necessary. However if you feel you'd benefit from seeing a demonstration drive, please liaise with your instructor before your session and they can explain the insurance requirements.
Does my booking include lunch?
Yes, a light lunch will be provided.
Do I need more than one session?
We are confident your first experience of advanced driving will open up a whole new world to you. If you wish to fully embrace it then we'd love to take you on a much longer journey - metaphorically and physically!
About Our Instructors
What qualifications do your instructors hold?
Our instructors are among the most qualified in the UK. They hold advanced driving qualifications from organisations such as the Institute of Advanced Motorists and RoSPA, and many have backgrounds in police pursuit driving, motorsport, or military vehicle training.
Meet our instructors →Can I request a specific instructor?
Yes, if you've had a great experience with one of our coaches or have seen someone you'd particularly like to train with, just let us know when booking and we'll do our best to match you up.
How We're Different
How does this differ from IAM Roadsmart or RoSPA?
The charities do a great job of making advanced driving accessible to all drivers. By training over many weeks with their volunteers you can achieve similar results. Our goal is to deliver quick wins with professional instructors and transform your driving overnight.
Is this like a track day?
No — our focus is on real-world road driving, not circuit speed. While track days are great fun, our coaching is about building skills you'll use every single day: better observation, smoother inputs, safer overtaking, and reading the road ahead. The skills transfer directly to your daily driving.
Do you offer group or corporate bookings?
Yes, we offer tailored corporate packages. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Do you cover motorway or night driving?
Yes, we can incorporate motorway driving into your session and can assist with night driving in winter. These are areas most drivers get no formal training in, so they're a great way to build confidence and safety.
