Reliving "The Liver Run"
Back to 1987 today to look at one of the most fabulous blue light runs ever
Resurfacing on social media today is one of the best 30 minutes of TV broadcast in the 1980s. It features a splendid Police Rover SD1 blatting it down the M11 at 100mph+ trying to deliver a liver in a picnic box!
The needy recipient was undergoing a transplant and the officers had to make it from Stansted Airport to central London in just over 30 minutes.
They made it with seconds to spare thanks to superb coordination by the Met Police and CIty Police, holding traffic at junctions, using outriders and no doubt giving it levels of concentration that would have left them exhausted.
It's a fun watch and one with a positive ending!

There's even a tribute video created in Forza Horizon!
